10 June 2025

Hello,

Ahhhhhh is it me or is time flying this year?! How are we already in June and when will I finally feel caught up with the year? (Rhetorical question, don’t worry.) I’m sure none of you have realised but I’m a few days late with this email newsletter, but, it’s here. And it’s a good one…I promise. Oh, also this month I finally got around to updating the nozza news website, fully re-designed and full to the brim with previous interviews from the past 10 issues of the newspaper. You can check it out here. Also, before I go there’s this fun new feature where you can ‘like’ the newsletters now, so if you did like this instalment click the little heart above!

As always, pass this on to your pals, share amongst your community and of course support our locals. Best, Al x

New exhibition and exciting evening event coming
to the Sainsbury Centre this month
Museum Late: Hydromancy
Thursday 12 June, 6-8pm | Sainsbury Centre
This event is free, but booking is essential

An evening of contemporary performance, music, and film that explores our relationship to the sea.

Hydromancy is the practice of exploring the future through observation of water, from its ripples, to colour, ebbs and flow. Taking hydromancy as a starting point this evening of contemporary performance, guest curated by artist Harun Morrison, includes film, live music, poetry, meditation and interactive video.
New exhibition: Sea Inside
The current season of exhibitions at the Sainsbury Centre asks: Can the Seas Survive Us?
Three shows – A World of Water, Darwin in Paradise Camp: Yuki Kihara (until 3 August), and Sea Inside - chart a course through the story of the world’s oceans and the precarious future they may be heading towards.
Featuring contemporary art, historical paintings, ancient atlases and maps from across the globe, the season explores humanity’s enduring and complex relationship with the sea.
Now open (7 June until 26 October) as the third and final show of the season, Sea Inside explores humanity’s interconnections, interrelationships, and immersion in oceans.
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to live underwater, to be inside a shell, or even the belly of a whale? Sea Inside features experimental contemporary artworks from across a range of media. Artworks explore the ways the oceans have been domesticated, reimagined on a bodily scale and brought inside to be tamed, contained or better understood.
The exhibition’s immersive focus brings to light many human-ocean connections, developing a set of ambitious, central themes. Expressions of marine interiority are explored and critiqued in installations, sculpture, video, sound and works on paper. What surfaces is a relational oceanic model, suggesting a necessary ethos for times of planetary crisis.
